Why we move so much

The spectacle of neighbors moving to a new city or a new place is a common occurrence. Most American families move or relocate quite often. Americans are most likely to shift their place of residence than anybody else in the world. In their lifetime, Americans are twice as apt to move to a new place than the British or the Japanese. In the view of some experts, the dynamics of American Economy are affected in some measure by interstate migration. The advantages of moving to a new place are many.

Notwithstanding the sudden removal of the 'comfort zone', and a feeling of being uprooted, moving provides us with many opportunities. For those who measure success by the size of their bank balance, moving on may provide an opportunity to do better. It is possible, that you may have reached a level of stagnation in your place of residence and moving provides you just the right opportunity to make it big. Moving to a new city provides you with an opportunity to start afresh. It is possible that you may have 'burnt your bridges' in your old town. New friends, new social circle and a new beginning are some of the advantages of relocating. Social networking adds visibility to your personal profile and it also translates into business opportunities. It is possible that your business has grown too big for a small town necessitating a move to further expand your business. In any case, any move is an opportunity to expand, improve and augment your business opportunities and your social networks.

A new place has new parameters, which need to be addressed. Facing up to the challenges require new ideas to be brought in. Thus moving helps you to innovate and improvise, which adds impetus to all your endeavors.

Your hidden creative talents may also come to fore because of moving to a new place. The artist within you may well be awakened by a move to a quiet suburb or a scenic locale. A creative calling of your life is not restricted to just painting, pottery etc. For example opening a hill resort, a lodge in the mountains or a shack by the sea or even a congregation of the faithful could be your expression of creativity on moving to a new place.
